I had a 1986 window van with the 6.2 diesel and it was a bear to start when cold. This unit has a thermal device hooked in with the glow plugs and it was intermittant. Some times the light would come on for glow plugs and sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes the only solution was a light shot of ether to start. GM has a serious problem with these units. It takes real good batteries to power the start and glowplug current needs. I sold this unit to a buddy and he is trying to find the solution so if you know how to fix it other than a block heater, please email to rpoe@emfusa.com and thanks! rnp
