I just bought a used 95 dodge diesel. Ten years a go I would add 1 qt of transmission fluid to the fuel. This burned hotter and cleaned my injectors.
Is this still done? Ok to do with the Cummings?

There are several schools of thought on this. Some people swear by it. Some freak out over it.

I never used ATF but I have run several additives over the years, with good results.
The ATF should add lubricity to the fuel, reducing wear on the pump. It burns really well just ask any tranny rebuilder, they burn the old fluid in shop heaters.

If it works for you than keep it up.

Transmission fluid has abrasives to keep the bands & clutches clean so they won't glaze...I'm afraid of those abrasives in my VE injector pump.
I use Power Service & Standyne.
