I have a 1995 Yukon with a 6.5 143000 miles. It starts fine, Runs great, but sometimes it rattles like the lifters have colapsed. you can be driving it and it's fine. Then it starts rattling. Then stops. The oil pressure is fine No Codes showing. What's up with this truck?

Look for the retainer buttons to be missing or moved allowing the rocker arm to travel in ways not intended, this tends to happen on the turbo side of the engine as the heat dries the buttons out faster and they get brittole and break.

hay Dr. You said retainer clips on turbo side. Is this A good idea to replace all 8 clips once you get the valve cover off? Also, what about those fuel lines? do you tweek them out of the way? or cut,and then put couplers on, or disconnect them at pump? DO you need a special GM tool to replace clips (buttons)? My thanks to Dr. and everyone out there, your info. and knowlage has been cost saving
