I have a '92 Mitsubishi Montero, with the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder 4D56 Inter-cooled turbo diesel engine. It has 120,000 miles on it, and I find it a little weak. I'd like to install a boost gage on it, to make sure the turbo is working correctly.
Does anyone have the parameters for this engine? How many psi maximum, at what rpm? I'm guessing it's in the 13-15 psi, but I'd like to be sure.
Furthermore, how much "preload" should one put on the wastegate rod? I have it such that the wastegate is held shut "finger-tight + 1 turn". Is that enough? What's the proper procedure?

Hi. i've been using 4d56 engines on different mits vehicles for quite some time. I learned how to adjust the valve clearances for maintenance. Im interested to learn how to properly check and adjust injection timming.

I live in Perú and i have a mitsubishi Pajero 1993 tubo diesel intercooler. with 150,000 miles. I need to bu the set of piston (4) and the piston ring set. someone knows where I can buy them to to import to Perú

I have a Mitsubishi L200 4x4 doing 80,000 miles and I am boosting @ 10psi comfortably, recomended boost is 11-12psi but maximum is 14psi..

I´ve got an Mitsubishi L200 with 4D56 engine with intercooler turbo. this is a european version. I notice that this vehicle has more power than japanese version. Could you tell me the difference between both engines. (eurpean and japanese version). Actually is 80K Kmsan runs perfect!!!! it´s made 170 kms-hr in hihgway speed at 3400 rpm Thanks Doctor

Hi folks, a lot of the queries you have here would be answered on the Pajero Owners Club UK forums. I'm from Kenya but I find the site extremely useufl as postings are done on a very regular basis.
I think max bost I've seen allowable by factory is 0.8 Bar which is 11.6 psi.
