white smoke no power 2001 dodge diesel with new lift pump

on start up i have white smoke and no power on start up after about one or two miles smoke is gone and hsve full power have 14 psi at idle and about 12 at 1500 rpm

ya two codes came up the first is 1793 the other 1596

Are you sure the 1793 isnt 1693? I couldnt find anything on a 1793. the 1596 is a speed/cruise fault code.

it was 1693 sorry would the other code cause this problem all that i have read claims that the speed control switch only affects the cruise control ?
