Orlando, I have one but it will be later tonight before I can get it to you. I know right off the top of my head the P0344 is a Cam Sensor code.

Brian, i also have a P0264 that says that cylinder #2 circuit is low. Which side is this on the left or right of the engine and also what can be the cause of this.
Thanks

#2 is the front cylinder on the driver side.
Possible causes:
Bad wire
Bad plug in
Bad valve cover gasket, and harnesses
Bad injector
Bad IDM (injector driver module)
Where u from?

Ok, P0264 is a low side short to ground.
What this is, is when you take off the plug in at the driverside front valve cover and look at it the second wire back will be your #2 low side injector wire. Move it out of the way and go into the valve cover and test the second pin back to ground, check the ohms on it.then go from that pin to the third pin and get ohms on it. The first test should show an OL, the second should be about 3.6-3.8 ohms, what you did here is test the injector just to make sure. Then test the harness back to the IDM which is located on the driverside fender almost to the firewall, it will be a grey box.test all wires to ground there should only be one, and do that with the haness plugged up to the valve cover. Let me know and we will go from there.
P0236 is a map sensor fault, saying that it detected a high signal at low idle.
P0344 is the cam sensor fault, if you havent replaced the cam sensor in at least the last year then I would install one just for the heck of it. Oreilly has them here for about $30.

Orlando,
This engine does not have an injection pump, what this engine is equipped with is a transfer pump and a high pressure oil pump. It is a HEUI injection system, basically the injector fills with fuel and there is high pressure oil that is about 550 at idle and can be as much as 3500-4000psi at wide open throttle.
The high press pump is where the injection pumps used to be on the old 7.3's, right behind the front cover in the v of the enigne.
The trans pump is located in the bottom of the v kinda under the turbo but just in front of it.

thank you very much can you please email me the telephone number and address of Oreilly's so i can order a cam sensor directly from them. Can you please let me know where i can pick up a manual for this engine and truck (1997 7.3 turbo f-350 crew cab). and can you clarify the code P0236 because in my book it states that it is a turbo/super charge boost sensor A circuit and range/performance.

Oreilly stores are everywhere I am guessing they are down here anyway. You can usually go on ebay, but really have to watch if it is a diagnostic, service, or operation manual. I will get back to my book and draw you something out for that code.

Orlando,
It is going to be a bad MAP sensor, wire or PCM fault. There is a lot of checking of wires in the book give me some time and I will try and walk you through it.
