Never worked on a Fiesta but cold diesel engine = white smoke. Start with the basics. Check fuel and air filter. Modern engines have glow plugs, fuel heaters and inlet manifold heaters to aid in starting and to prevent white smoke when cold. Could be problem with one of these systems. Make sure thermostat is good so engine water temperature comes up. Are you loosing any anti freeze? A coolant leak into the combustion chamber will cause white smoke until it is burnt off. Tim.
