Update on 94 Suburban

Postby Uncle Al » Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:47 pm

I replaced the ECM on my Suburban and got rid of the error codes. It started on the second try and idled smoothly. It did not set a code 88 like the GM manual said it would fo TDC learn. Took the truck out on the road for a test ride. When driving at moderate speed it runs fine, but if I stop for a couple of seconds and then try to accelerate quickly it bucks and acts like it has no power. If I back off a little a let the speed pick up , it runs fine. It almost seems that the injection pump is holding back. Also, before this recent problem occurred, the truck would start right up after the glow plug light went off. Now it is more difficult to start. Also, I checked for error codes after taking the truck for the test ride and there were none. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you could give me.

The TDC learn has to be redone to get the correct value. the PCM has the wrong value in it, from the previous vehicle. This will not set a code, but it won't run as good as it could.

Is the PCM correct for the injection pump? 1994, and only 1994, had 2 different pumps and 3 different PCM chips.
