93 Chev. 3/4 ton Detroit Diesel won't start hot

Husband has a 1993 3/4 ton Chevy with Detroit Diesel engine. It will start first time you crank it in the AM, but then won't start again until the next morning. Runs fine as long as you don't kill it. Any thoughts?

Most likely the injection pump cannot make pressure hot. this has been discussed many times. Search the forum for more info.
