354 perkins conversion

Postby mad scientist:P » Tue Oct 17, 2006 4:33 pm

i am wanting to stuff a 354.6T perkins in my 94 f-450. i have the motor (is the black block model) but i need a bellhousing and trans to fit it. can ANYONE tell me what bellhousings and transmissions will work? i.e. what trucks have a 354 perkins in them from the factory?

i have a local large truck partsyard here in town, but they are a-holes and wont talk to you unless you know EXACTLY what you are wanting. they wont go out of their way to look up any info.

someone please help :!:

i have found that IH 1600 had these motors and so did the dodge PD500/600...however, i doubt that i will be able to find a trans and bellhousing for either considering they were made in the late 50's early 60's.

i need a newer application...please help

I have a 1976 f-150 with a 354 perkins with a 6 speed allision trans. there is a place in LA ,California that deals with perkins conversions.I'll try to get the info for you. I did the conversion sometime in 1982. Hope they are still in bussiness. I'll post later.
